What It’s Like Working With a Full-Service Photographer

When most people think about hiring a photographer, they picture showing up for a session, receiving an online gallery, downloading a few images, and moving on. But working with a full-service photographer is a completely different experience one designed to make the entire process easier, more personal, and far more meaningful from beginning to end.

At Meagan Nicole Photography, the goal is not only to create beautiful images, but to help families preserve their memories in a tangible way through artwork and heirloom products that can be enjoyed for years to come. Whether you’re booking a family session, maternity session, newborn session, birth story, First 48 session, senior portraits, or a couples or engagement session, every experience is carefully planned and customized around you.

A Personalized Experience Before Your Session

Your experience begins long before your session date arrives. One of the biggest differences with a full-service photographer is the amount of planning and guidance you receive beforehand.

From outfit styling assistance and coordinating colors for the whole family to trusted hair and makeup artist recommendations, you’ll never be left trying to figure everything out on your own. Together, we’ll also select the perfect location based on the overall look and feeling you want your images to have. Every detail is thoughtfully planned to create a cohesive, elevated experience that feels stress-free and intentional.

This level of preparation helps your session flow naturally while ensuring your final images look polished and timeless.

A Relaxed Session That Feels Natural

One thing clients often worry about is whether they’ll know how to pose — but that’s where I come in.

During your session, I’ll guide you with natural posing, movement, and prompts that encourage genuine interaction rather than stiff smiles and awkward positioning. The focus is on creating authentic moments and connection so your images truly feel like you. Some moments may be gently directed, while others unfold naturally, creating a beautiful balance between polished portraits and candid emotion.

The result is a relaxed, enjoyable session experience where you can focus on being present with the people you love most.

Your Viewing & Ordering Appointment

Shortly after your session, we’ll meet again for your viewing and ordering appointment — one of the most important parts of the IPS experience.

This appointment is when you and your family will see your images for the very first time and choose your favorites together. Rather than scrolling through hundreds of photos alone on a screen, I’ll help guide you through selecting the images that best fit your home, your family, and your vision.

During this appointment, you’ll also get to see and feel product samples in person, including framed artwork, albums, prints, and other heirloom pieces. This allows you to truly experience the quality of the products before making your selections. Your digital package and artwork choices are made during this appointment, creating a simple and guided process rather than an overwhelming one.

While these appointments are best experienced in person, Zoom appointments are also available for families needing flexibility.

Your Memories Deserve More Than a Screen

In today’s digital world, so many images are forgotten on phones, computers, and hard drives. Photography focuses on helping families actually enjoy and preserve their memories instead of letting them disappear into digital storage.

Your photographs deserve to live beyond a screen. They deserve to be printed, framed, displayed in your home, and passed down for generations. That’s the heart behind the full service experience creating artwork and heirlooms that tell your family’s story in a lasting and meaningful way.

Hiring a full-service photographer means investing in more than just pictures. It means investing in an experience, guidance throughout the entire process, and beautiful finished artwork that allows your memories to become part of your everyday life.
